Summer 1

SOUTH AMERICA

This half term Year 6 have been learning all about the continent of South America in their Geography led unit. They have learnt the names of the 12 countries and some of the capital and major cities. They have learnt about some of the physical and human features of the continent such as: The Andes, The Amazon River, Machu Pichu and the Rainbow Mountains. Children in Year 6 particularly engaged and enjoyed learning about the Amazon Rainforest and the amazing species of animals and plants found there. Y6 are particularly proud of their persuasive writing about deforestation in the Amazon and their carnival salsa dance which they choreographed together and performed for their parents.
