Autumn Term 1

In Science this half-term, we have been learning about materials and their properties.
We enjoyed a visit to Carnforth Fire Station to learn all about the role of the firefighter and firework safety.
In maths, we have been learning about length and mass. The children used balance scales to compare mass and weigh different objects.
Our class love phonics games! Here are the children playing 'Popcorn Pop!'
We are enjoying learning about non-chronological reports in English and have explored a variety of non-chronological reports to support us when writing our own.
In P.E., we have been practising our throwing, catching, jumping, hopping and running skills.
As part of our autumn term topic, 'Contrasting Locality', Year 1 and Year 2 went on a walk around Carnforth to explore our local area.
We took part in a sponsored 'Bounce for Books'!
In R.E., we are learning about Christianity. The children used role play to act out the Parable of the Lost Son, exploring the characters' thoughts and feelings.
