Autumn Term 1
Here is the Medium Term Plan for Autumn 1:
Our topic this half term is called 'Twin Towns'. 'Twin Towns' is a geography based unit that looks at Carnforth and it's twin town Sailly-sur-la-Lys. During this topic we look at human and physical features, make comparisons and learn more about land use and trade.
In Science we are learning about Electricity. We will be discussing and learning about how to create a circuit, insulators and conductors, circuit switches and how to stay safe around electricity.
Our English learning covers the book 'The train to Impossible Places' by P.G.Bell. We will be looking at narrative writing and letter writing.
Settling in to Year 3 and 4 with some story sharing, tree climbing and self-portrait drawing.
Our orienteering skills in PE are also helping us with our map work in Geography! We are getting much better at moving with a map, using a key and recognising map symbols.
In English we have enjoyed doing drama activities. Our freeze frame drama allowed us to explore Suzy's feelings throughout the story so far!
Julia Grisenthwaite, from the Twinning Committee, came to see us in school and told us all about Sailly-sur-la-Lys!
