Autumn Term 1

Here is a link to the Medium Term Plans for Autumn 1:

Welcome to Year Six...This is Me

Our topic this half term is Energy in the Environment. Over the last three weeks, in our geography lessons, we have been discovering different energy sources. We have learnt about fossil fuels, non-renewable and renewable energy and located different power stations in the UK using atlases. We located our nearest power station in Heysham, which is a nuclear power station - and we are looking forward to our visit there on the 6th October.

HEYSHAM POWER STATION TRIP 6TH OCTOBER

SCIENCE - IT'S ELECTRIC!!

Our English learning this half term is based around the novel 'Wonder' written by R.J. Palacio. Through our reading phase we have used our inference and deduction skills to think carefully about how the different characters in the story might think and feel. We have spent a lot of time thinking about Auggie's character as he starts school for the first time.

Our English learning

Our Gymnastics focus for this half term is to create mirrored, counter and counter-tension balances using the floor and apparatus, working in pairs and small groups. We will be learning how to create fluid sequences using leaps, rolls and jumps to move into the different balances.

Our P.E. learning
