Our topic this half-term is Travel and Transport. Reception and Year 1 have enjoyed playing in the car wash role play, washing their teacher's car, testing cars down ramps, making a large train outdoors and indoors, and creating junk model transport.
In Maths, Reception have been comparing mass and using part-part-whole models for addition and subtraction within 10.
In maths, Year 1 have been practising their number bonds to 20, measuring length and height using non-standard and standard units, and learning about position and direction.
We have been learning about and exploring our five senses in science.
As part of our Travel and Transport topic, Reception and Year 1 enjoyed a visit to Cinderbarrow Miniature Railway. The children loved riding on the miniature trains, looking at the model railway, and having a go at controlling a train on a train set.
Year 1 visited Carnforth Railway Heritage Centre to learning all about the history of trains.
What better way to end the term than with an Easter Egg Hunt!
