Spring 1

WORLD WAR II

What were the significant events leading up to the Battle of Britain?

Spring 1 overview MTP

In our History lessons during this half term, children in Y5&6 will learn how WWII began overseas in Europe. They will learn about Hitler's rise to power and who the Allied and Axis parties were, including some of the important leaders.

In Music, Y5&6 children composed a soundscape linking to The Blitz. They used their listening skills carefully to recognise the two different sounds for the air raid siren - warning and safe, using accurate pitch to imitate the sound into their soundscape.

As part of Safer Internet Day, The Owl class took part in a Stem First activity and became CSI investigators. They learned about staying safe online and worked in teams to break into the cases to solve the mystery having to crack all kinds of codes.
