Week 3 - wk commencing 4th May 2020
Well done Class One, you have had yet another astoundingly, productive and impressive week engaging with your challenges! We've had baking, model making, fabulous writing to name but a few!
Please find attached our weekly overview of tasks. Like last week, I have attached daily Maths, English, Phonics and PE.
Friday 8th marks the 75th anniversary of VE day. Due to the current situation, sadly, lots of street parties and celebrations have had to be canecelled. We would therefore like as many families as possible to help celebrate this momentous occasion. This week's topic activities are all linked to learning about VE Day and preparing for an at home 'garden/house party' for your household. We have set this as a whole school topic challenge so hopefully we will all be celebrating together but in our own homes.
I'm really looking forward to your creativity around this. The wartime recipes look especially interesting! There are 1940's songs to learn and sing along with and steps to learn the Lindy Hop, which was a popular dance during WWII. Attached are some bunting templates for your child to decorate for your house and garden.
We would love to see lots of photos and especially videos of your parties!
Please send photos, observations and videos to our class email. If you struggle to get the photos to attach via email, feel free to send them as a message in Class Dojo.
Keep up the fabulous work and enjoy your week!
White Rose Maths
Each of the Maths sessions has a video available on the White Rose website.
To access Receptions 'Supertato' themed maths for the week please visit https://whiterosemaths.com/homelearning/early-years/
Go to Summer term week 1. This will be found at the bottom of the Reception homelearning page.
Click on the first video and this will start the session for day one. The videos below are for the following sessions for the rest of the week.
I have also attached the powerpoints for the sessions to this page but they are much easier to follow on the video. Take a look over the weekend as there maybe a few bits that you might want to gather in advance.

Bunting for you to print and decorate to hang around your home and garden.
The attached powerpoint might be a helpful starting point to promote discussion around the end of the war. Use it as you wish to help give your child some understanding about the 'celebration' of VE Day.
