Remote Learning and activities Summer Term
With any luck you will have had an enjoyable (yet unusual) Easter and are making the most of this wonderful weather we have been having. I do hope you are all well and taking great care of yourselves.
As it has now been confirmed that school will certainly remain closed for the forthcoming weeks, I have put together a more structured set of activities and challenges that, I feel, the children would benefit from to ensure they are maintaining their learning so far in school and building upon those skills through new opportunities at home.
'Home schooling' is a challenge for us all but, we do need to ensure that the children are engaging with some level of learning during this time. I hope you find the activities fun, practical and engaging. Hopefully it will take some of the pressure off you with having to think up ideas. I've tried to ensure that the activities are 'do-able' with the most basic of resources and accessible on some level for everyone.
Please find attached this week's learning activities. The table gives you a daily set of activities to complete with your child to assist in maintaining their skills and giving opportunities for new learning.
There are daily sessions for English, Maths and a weekly challenge page for topic work of which 5 need to be completed and an R.E. task. I have also included daily P.E. sessions and Phonics.
Please do send in photos and observations of your child as they work through the activities. I am available daily via the class email or dojo messages and will endeavour to get back to you regarding any difficulties or queries you may have. I will generally respond during 9am and 10am and then in the evening between 7pm and 9pm but I will try, where possible to resolve any problems you may be encountering with websites etc. as soon as I am aware and pick up your messages.
White Rose Maths
Each of the Maths sessions has a video available on the White Rose website.

Go to week one. (We are starting these maths resources from week one rather than summer week one)
Click on the first video and this will start the session for day one. The videos below are for the following sessions for the rest of the week.
I have also attached the powerpoints for the sessions to this page but they are much easier to follow on the video. Take a look over the weekend as there maybe a few bits that you might want to gather in advance. Session one talks about chocolate eggs but adapt this where needed. You can do the same activity with drawn eggs...don't go shopping for non essential items!
Please choose 5 of the challenges from the Jack and the Beanstalk page to complete across the week and send in photos of your child's work to our class email address.
I have added the resources that you may need for some of the activities below. These do not need printing, they are simply there to support you with song words, recipes and pictures for some of the tasks.
